Hardware and system integration
Engineering for connecting physical equipment, software and infrastructure into a working system.
Integration succeeds when every interface, responsibility and acceptance check is agreed before equipment arrives. We define how the parts fit together and who is responsible for each, then establish the specialist support and supplier arrangements the work requires as part of scoping.
What this covers
Equipment design, certification, manufacture and installation stay with their suppliers unless agreed otherwise; we define each responsibility explicitly.
Define component responsibilities and the interfaces between equipment, software, and operating processes. Record dependencies, tolerances, and acceptance criteria for the integrated system.
Integrate selected equipment with applications and infrastructure through agreed interfaces. Establish installation, configuration, communication, and fault handling requirements.
Use a bounded prototype to test interfaces or uncertain system behaviour. Record what has been demonstrated and what still needs verification before committing to production deployment.
Plan checks of integrated behaviour under representative conditions. Define the evidence required for acceptance, handover, and operation, with specialist support where necessary.
Coordinate technical specifications, interface decisions, and acceptance across suppliers. Define responsibility for equipment design, certification, manufacture, installation, and maintenance rather than assuming these are included.

Common questions
Do you have published case studies for hardware integration?
Not yet. Our published case studies cover software, cloud, AI and data systems. For hardware and system integration, we confirm the specialist support and supplier arrangements during scoping, before any commitment is made.
Is equipment supply and installation included?
Not by default. We define who is responsible for equipment design, certification, manufacture, installation and maintenance rather than assuming these are included, and coordinate interfaces and acceptance across the suppliers involved.
